Unlike many other butterflies native to this region, the Monarch migrates from our area to the south.
No single Monarch migrates all the way from our area to Mexico and back. Instead, the great-great grandchildren of a Monarch that we see in one summer will actually return to us the following summer.
This is very confusing to most people.
